St. Louis – A 48-year-old man accused of posing as a highly decorated Marine will appear in federal court in St. Louis Thursday, which also happens to be Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.
Michael Weilbacher of Kirkwood was arrested last week on charges he wore a dress uniform and military medals to a Marine Corps Ball in St. Louis County on Veterans Day. But the FBI says Weilbacher never served.
Weilbacher is charged with wearing military medals without authorization. The crime is punishable by a $50,000 fine, or six months in jail.
