  • UMSL seeks a Director of Business Administration for St. Louis Public Radio. to serve as the senior finance and accounting consultant supporting the finance and business functions for the station. This position is responsible for managing budgets and providing financial analysis, is a liaison to various campus and community partners, manages audits and prepares reports for various entities.
  • STLPR seeks an enterprising, early-rising journalist to serve as our next Morning Newscaster. This person is responsible for organizing, writing and delivering newscasts during cutaways from NPR’s Morning Edition and producing our flagship weekday morning podcast, “The Gateway.”

All St. Louis Public Radio internships pay an hourly wage of $15, along with the opportunity for college credit depending on the requirements of interns’ respective degree programs. Each internship averages a time commitment of 25 hours per week.

Development (Fundraising) Intern

The intern will assist in a variety of development and fundraising-related tasks including donor communication, donor stewardship and administrative tasks as well as data collection and processing.

Marketing & Communications Intern

The intern will assist with digital marketing, including email and social media, as well as ad targeting and paid search.

Newsroom (Journalism) Intern

The intern will learn valuable broadcast and recording skills, attend press conferences, upload news stories, conduct interviews, and may be asked to assist anchors in producing newscasts.

Newsroom Visuals (Journalism) Intern

The visuals intern will apply and develop storytelling skills through impactful still photographs of breaking news, enterprise reporting, and other journalistic content across STLPR’s digital platforms.

Special Events Intern

The student will assist in the preparation of St. Louis Public Radio events including planning, set-up, execution, and breakdown.

Talk Show Production (St. Louis on the Air) Intern

The intern will assist in content and audio production for St. Louis Public Radio’s daily talk show, St. Louis on the Air.

Visual Communications (Graphic Design) Intern

The intern will assist marketing & digital media staff in creating graphics and images for digital and print distribution as assigned.
