St. Louis – Monday (5/28) is the last day for Missouri students to register for the new Virtual Instruction Program.
The on-line classes start in the 2007-2008 school year and are available to elementary and high school students.
Department of Elementary and Secondary Education spokesman Jim Morris says the program will help a variety of students.
"This could be anybody from a student who's homebound because of a serious health condition; a student who needs to recover some credit because they're behind and trying to make up some credits so they can graduate," Morris said. "Students who are home schooled are eligible."
Between 4,000 and 5,000 students are expected to enroll.
The deadline for registration for the Missouri Virtual Instruction Program is midnight.
