St. Louis, MO – Mertens' fellow commissioners have both backed the proposal by Riviera Holdings.
The company wants to bring a $150 million-dollar casino and entertainment complex to Barnhart.
The gaming commission voted in June to consider another casino in the St. Louis area.
Other companies have proposed rival projects in south St. Louis County.
The gaming commission plans to study the casino proposals over
the next three months.
