A trial on whether former St. Louis Alderman Brandon Bosley defrauded an insurance company and lied to federal authorities started Wednesday.

Brandon Bosley, who represented parts of north St. Louis for six years, is facing five federal felonies.

Former St. Louis Alderman Brandon Bosley is accused of working with a local businessman to defraud an insurance company. He is the fourth former alderman to face federal prosecution in less than a year.

The 16 aldermen who said farewell on Monday marked a collective 90 years of experience at the board, although half had served less than five years.
