Jefferson City, Mo. – People searching Missouri's online court records may no longer view some requests for orders of protection.
Until the new year began, all applications for protection orders had been posted on Casenet. The site also listed court-issued ex-parte orders that are in effect only until a hearing is held to determine if a full order should be granted.
Under a change ordered by the Missouri Supreme Court, those records now are not listed online until a full order of protection has been granted.
Court administrators say there had been complaints from people whose names were listed online but against whom no full orders of protection ever were issued.
