Jefferson City, MO – Missouri Lt. Governor Peter Kinder is not happy with Governor Jay Nixon's halting of the MOHELA college construction program.
In a brief news conference, he described the decision to halt five construction projects currently under way as abrupt.
"These projects are worthy projects that will create jobs in the short term and over the long term...the economy will truly be stimulated as opposed to this bogus, pork-ulous, stimulus fraud coming out of Washington DC," Kinder said.
Kinder also told reporters he believes the governor may be counting on federal stimulus money to pay for the suspended projects.
Nixon spokesman Jack Cardetti made no comment on that statement. He says, though, that the MOHELA building projects were halted because the student loan authority has been missing payments.
