St. Louis – The St. Louis-based electronics cable maker Belden is eliminating 1,800 jobs, or 20 percent of its total work force as part of a restructuring.
The move is aimed at streamlining the company's manufacturing, sales and administrative functions around the world.
Some manufacturing operations will be consolidated.
Chief Executive Officer John Stroup says Belden has seen softening of its major markets globally.
