St. Louis, MO – The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is reporting that the some clients of the pharmacy benefit management company Express Scripts have received extortion letters threatening to release private information.
The letters are similar to one the company itself received last week. That letter contained the personal information of about 75 of the company's clients, and a demand for money.
Express Scripts says it will offer free identity restoration to any client who has their identity stolen because of the security breech. But it says personal data has not been misused. The company is reporting the threats to the FBI, and is offering a $1 million reward.
