St. Louis – The appointed panel that oversees the St. Louis public schools has hired a new interim superintendent.
John Wright will fill the post beginning July 1, while the special administrative board searches for Diana Bourisaw's replacement.
Bourisaw will leave the St. Louis Public Schools at the end of July.
She's been in the job for nearly two years. But she made the decision to step down in February after the appointed board decided to conduct a national job search.
At the time, board chief Rick Sullivan said the move was not a reflection of Bourisaw's performance. But he said the public was not involved in her hiring.
John Wright last served as interim superintendent in the Normandy School District in north St. Louis County.
