By AP/KWMU

St. Louis – A woman is recovering after being hit and dragged by a Metrolink train Monday morning.

Transit agency spokeswoman Dianne Williams said the woman was struck at 9 a.m. at the Richmond Heights station.

She suffered scrapes, bruises and broken bones.

Williams says the 18-year-old woman was looking at the eastbound train she was trying to catch and did not notice an approaching westbound train. She was wearing headphones at the time.

The operator of the westbound train, was traveling about 20 mph into the station, and immediately applied the brakes.
