St. Louis, MO – A north St. Louis County man faces charges of first-degree murder for allegedly killing his girlfriend and dumping her body in a creek.
The body of Latonya Fiertag, 37, was found last Saturday under a foot bridge. Authorities on Friday announced charges against Jessie Meanus, 26. He is jailed without bond.
Witnesses tell police thy saw Meanus and Fiertag arguing in the driveway of their home on April 9. Authorities say Fiertag was hit over the head with a baseball bat and choked.
Witnesses then reportedly saw Meanus put Fiertag in a large trash bin, close the lid and wheel the can toward the creek where her body was found three days later. The medical examiner determined she died by strangulation.
