Overland Park, Kan. – Authorities say a crash on Interstate
35 in Johnson County involving 35 cars and two 18-wheelers has injured 18 people and shut down the busy highway.
Three of the injured are believed to be in critical condition after the accident just past noon today in the northbound lanes of
I-35.
Police said a semi went out of control and other vehicles piled into it.
Rescue vehicles and at least six ambulances were on the scene.
The crash happened during a snowstorm in the Kansas City area, where about an inch of snow is forecast.
Multiple crashes were reported on southbound I-35 in Johnson County.
