St. Louis, MO – This week's extensive power outage, the largest in St. Louis history, had a lot of people longing for their creature comforts.

But one St. Louis family chooses to do without the things most of us consider necessities, like television and air conditioning.

And what they have to say might make you think twice about buying a backup generator for any future blackout.
