Springfield, Ill. – Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich's office won't release the names of eight applicants who lost out on a job to a campaign donor's son.

The administration says it would violate their privacy, even though state law makes job applicants' names public record.

The job of business administrator at an East Saint Louis prison ended up going to Bernard Ysursa, Jr. His father is part of a law firm that has given $15,000 to Blagojevich.

Ysursa was declared an intern when he got the job. That meant normal hiring rules, including preference for military veterans, didn't apply.

A Blagojevich spokeswoman says that's not why Ysursa was made an intern. She says he was given that status because he needed more experience. Ysursa has a master's degree in business administration.
