Parents as Teachers program helps those in military

St. Louis – On Friday, U.S. Senator Kit Bond announced a $1 million initiative to expand the early childhood program Parents As Teachers on four Army bases and create new chapters on five others.

One of the four in line for expansion is Fort Leonard Wood in the Missouri Ozarks. That's where KWMU's Kevin Lavery found the program at work in the life of one mother raising her kids alone.
