LE BOURGET, France – The chairman of Boeing's board confirmed on Wednesday that St. Louis-based executive Jim Albaugh is on a short list of five or six candidates to be the company's new chief executive.
Albaugh heads Boeing's St. Louis-based space and defense business.
James Bell became Boeing's interim CEO after Harry Stonecipher was forced to resign this year after admitting an affair with an executive.
Boeing Chairman Lew Platt confirmed Wednesday that the head of the commercial division (Alan Mulally) and the head of the company's space and defense business (Jim Albaugh) are both on the list.
Platt adds he thinks Bell has been doing an excellent job in the interim.
