An Illinois House committee will hear a number of proposals that would expand gambling in Illinois.
Supporters say the three measures would bring in almost $2 billion to a state facing a multi-billion dollar deficit.
One plan would allow casino owners to add hundreds of new slot machines to their riverboats. It would also allow slots at the state's five horse racing tracks.
The second would legalize $47,000 video poker machines at bars and restaurants statewide.
The third measure would authorize the city of Chicago to own and operate an eleventh casino in the state.
