St. Louis, MO – The head of Missouri's Division of Family Services says she agrees with the findings of a newly-published audit of the state's foster care system.
The State Auditor's office found foster children are generally safe. But the audit also suggests many improvements.
Family Services Director Denise Cross says her agency can do a better job of helping foster parents.
The auditors also found foster homes did not receive all the required oversight visits, and background checks on foster parents were not updated.
