St. Louis, MO – St. Louis County prosecutors have charged a 22-year-old man with second degree murder in the beating death of his girlfriend's son.

Authorities say Randall Gabler killed Adin Choi because the child was crying and had urinated on himself. Adin was two years old.

St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert McCulloch said Gabler is a heroin addict, and first reported Adin missing from Suson Park in South St. Louis County.

McCulloch said Gabler later admitted to killing the child in a motel room near Lambert Airport.

"As police conducted the investigation they determined that the child was in fact not missing, and further investigation led them to the child's body in a dumpster behind a school in Jefferson County," McCulloch said.

McCulloch said prosecutors could file more charges after police finish their investigation.

Gabler is the boyfriend of Adin's mother Min Choi, and was babysitting Adin while Choi was out of town.

Gabler is being held on $250,000 bond.
