Take center stage at the Link Auditorium in this beginner-friendly class that covers the fundamentals of card magic.
Students will learn foundational shuffles and sleights to build their confidence while handling cards, along with easy yet impressive card effects and tricks that will allow them to look like seasoned pros in no time.
The course will also explore presentation tips and strategies for creating routines so that your audience is always on the edge of their seat! We don’t just teach tricks to amaze friends, family and strangers - we help each student develop interpersonal and communication skills that benefit them in all facets of life. No experience is necessary and all required materials are provided!
Author Greg Wolk's newest book, John Frémont’s 100 Days in Civil War Missouri, covers U.S. Grant’s activities during his own wartime days in the state, which overlapped to a considerable extent with Fremont’s tenure.The book tracks Grant’s progress from Quincy, Illinois to Belmont, Missouri, and his relationship to Frémont – the man who put him on the road to success.

Presidents and their First Ladies often have new sets of china produced for their official entertaining, such as State Dinners. These events are an important part of diplomacy and the table setting conveys not only an atmosphere of elegance and hospitality, but also national pride. Julie Northrip, former interpretive program manager at the park, will show and discuss some of the china used during presidential administrations.

For Couples-Beginner. This six-week class will explore the basics of East Coast Swing, Single Time Swing and West Coast Swing. It is for anyone who is tired of sitting down at social events as soon as the dancing starts. We will work on rhythm, coordination, and developing a few go-to moves that will give you all the confidence you need to get out on the dance floor.
