The summit features Dr. Dan DiLeo, associate professor and director of the Justice and Peace Studies Program at Creighton University. His teaching, research, and scholarship focus on Catholic social teaching, public theology, and climate change. Since 2009, he has been a consultant with Catholic Climate Covenant of which the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops is a founding member.
There will be light refreshments served and exhibitor tables.

The St. Louis Independent Comics Expo (SLICE) is St. Louis’s premier annual indie-print showcase, bringing together over 100 writers and artists from St. Louis and beyond to showcase their self-published books, comics, zines, prints, magazines, poetry, and more. SLICE 2025 takes place on October 18, 10 a.m.–5 p.m., at The Sheldon Concert Hall and Art Galleries. The expo is free to attend and open to the public.
Programming throughout the day will include lectures and workshops by SLICE’s special and featured guests, as well as activities provided by local artists and organizations. SLICE’s 2025 special guests are award-winning author and the creator of Check, Please!, Ngozi Ukazu; award-winning Vietnamese American cartoonist, artist, and writer Trung Le Nguyen; and Rori, a St. Louis cartoonist, designer, and illustrator whose work has been the focus of two major exhibits with the Missouri History Museum.

Join us for the inaugural Counterpublic Convening, a free festival bringing together leading artists, thinkers, and advocates to imagine new ways of being in the world together. Organized by New York-based writer and curator Laura Raicovich, alongside Ringleaders Kenneth Bailey, Galen Gritts, Nontsikelelo Mutiti, and Jeanne van Heeswijk, CIRCUS OF LIFE cultivates connections and shared experiences during a time when locating what we hold in common is urgent and necessary. Hosted in the Grand Center Arts District at the Big Top, an iconic circus tent, and the new Counterpublic House, the program expands imaginations and engages participants through joy, delight, and creative expression.
