Join us for an invasive removal and trash cleanup at Brentwood Wetland on Saturday, October 26, 2024 at 9am – 12pm.
Volunteer Check-in starts at 8:45 a.m. Parking is available at 3000 S Brentwood Blvd. We will be working along the riparian corridor of Deer Creek removing invasive plants and picking up trash along Deer Creek as part of the regional River des Peres Trash Bash.
Tools, gloves, and trash bags will be provided. Fall is a perfect time to remove invasive plants to decrease competition and allow the native species to fill in and dominate the landscape. This is a family friendly event that is open to all ages.
Please dress for the weather. Volunteers are encouraged to wear comfortable clothes that they do not mind getting dirty.

Valley Park Community Theatre (a brand new 501c3) is throwing a Game-Night inspired Trivia Night as our inaugural fundraiser - it will be a traditional trivia night, with some fun mini-games - Deal or No Deal, Game of Life, and Let's Make a Deal, just to name a few.

On Saturday, November 2, Alloy Personal Training invites the community to join us for a heart-pumping, 45-minute charity workout, Bootcamp for BackStoppers, aimed at supporting our local heroes. This engaging fitness event will take place in the open field next to the movie theater on Main Street in Wildwood, MO at 9:00 AM (16870 Main Street, Wildwood, MO 63040).
The workout will be inclusive of all fitness levels, so bring your friends, family and neighbors! Restrooms and water will be available on-site.

Join us at the annual SIUE Friends of Art auction this year on Friday, November 8th, 2024. Bidders have the exclusive chance to walk away original handmade artwork created by art students, faculty, alumni, and community members. Additionally, it is a great opportunity to support young and emerging artists, network, and learn more about SIUE Friends of Art. The Art Auction is also the critical funding source for the Visiting Artist program at SIUE which provides students, as well as the community at large, the opportunity for an in-depth look at the processes, techniques, and inspirations of notable working artists around the nation.

The 9th Annual Veterans Day 5K Run/Walk presented by Keeley Companies will be a fun-filled day where people of all ages come together and race to transform veteran lives. Join us and participate in the 5K, one-mile route, or kids’ dash and enjoy the runners’ village with snacks, beverages, yard games, giveaways, music, kids’ activities, and much more! In honor of our service men and women, the City of St. Louis hosts the St. Louis Regional Veterans Day Observance Ceremony and Parade following the event. Can’t make it in person? Join Ready Readers for the return of their trivia night! Participants will enjoy 10 rounds of general trivia, 50/50 raffle, prize raffle, mulligans, and more! Beer, soda, water, and snacks will be provided as supplies last, but feel free to bring your own. All proceeds will support Ready Readers’ mission of expanding literacy for young children in low-income communities through high-quality books, strong relationships, and literacy related experiences. RESILIENCE Dance Company presents Entry Points - a dynamic dance repertory concert featuring four world premieres by Annie Rigney (New York City, NY), Kia Smith (Chicago, IL), VIM VIGOR (Ann Arbor, MI), and Victoria Lynn Awkward (Boston), in addition to a returning work by Rosanna Tavarez (Los Angeles, CA). The performance will take place November 8th - 9th at COCA's Catherine B. Berges Theatre. Audiences can expect exciting and evocative contemporary modern dance, with each piece serving as an "entry point" into a unique idea, perspective, or human experience.
Saturday night's performance will include a pre-show catered cocktail hour and afterparty. Audience members may purchase "performance only" tickets or "fundraiser" tickets that grant access to the cocktail hour with complimentary appetizers and a drink ticket.

There will be many fun and creative activities (painting, lip sync, etc.), food, a cash bar, and a silent auction. Proceeds go to the nonprofit Youth Be Heard, which does strengths-based writing workshops for young people and publishes youth writing submissions.
