Dance St. Louis' New Season

Dance St. Louis' season opener features four world premieres performed by four St. Louis professional dance companies.  The Saint Louis Ballet, Leverage Dance Theater, MADCO, and Common Thread Contemporary Dance Company are teaming up to open the 2012-2013 season with “New Dance Horizons.”

Host Steve Potter talks with Michael Uthoff, Artistic and Executive Director of Dance St. Louis, Gen Horiuchi, Artistic Director of Saint Louis Ballet, and Pam Tanowitz, Choreographer and Founder of Pam Tanowitz Dance.

Show Highlight

The guests described the inspiration for New Dance Horizons.  “The piece came out of the music. The music is an electronic score that came out of the St. Louis blues. It feels familiar, it’s something that feels familiar, but is different. Dance theater has created a full sound scape with vintage sounds, weaved it all together and it became something else,” said Pam Tanowitz.
