Organizations such as the alcohol and drug abuse education nonprofit PreventEd in the St. Louis area earlier this week received emails announcing that grant funding had been canceled because it did not align with the federal government’s priorities.

During the first month of a national mental health crisis line, calls to Missouri mental health centers have gone up 30%, state officials said. The three-digit 988 line routes all calls to suicide prevention hotline crisis centers.
