Groups from “marching music’s major league” are crisscrossing the country this summer — chasing a perfect 12-minute performance and the dream of a world championship.

The O’Fallon, Missouri-based winter drumline achieved a score of 96.05. That was two points ahead of the second-place finisher and the second-highest score ever achieved in the division.
