2015 in Review: Where ‘We Live Here’ was this year and where it is going

Kelly Moffitt | St. Louis Public Radio
Tim Lloyd and Kameel Stanley

You know Tim Lloyd and Kameel Stanley from their work as hosts of the “We Live Here” podcast that covers race and culture for St. Louis Public Radio. On Monday’s “St. Louis on the Air,” we recapped some of the most memorable moments of the podcast’s first season. We also looked ahead at what is to come and how Stanley is settling into St. Louis (she moved here from Florida in September).

"So far, St. Louis has been really good to me," Stanley said.

"I have a lot of the same conversations that I had in Tampa around race and inequality as I do here in St. Louis about ," she continued. "The flavor that St. Louis has on it is that despite the past 18 months of reflection publicly about it, there's still people who don't want to hear it, don't want to talk about it, just aren't ready."

The show is on a short hiatus right now as Lloyd and Stanley report for the show's season two, which will premiere in March.

"We have a big, full agenda," said Lloyd. "We have some real deep shows coming up. I think taking this break will allow us to scale up and allow us to be more than just a podcast."

Here are some of the programs from the past year that we highlighted on today's show:

We Live Here: How a debt to society can come with interest

We Live Here: Why wasn't race a priority before things unraveled at Mizzou?

We Live Here: Race relations didn't keep me away from St. Louis; they brought me here

"St. Louis on the Air" discusses issues and concerns facing the St. Louis area. The show is produced by Mary EdwardsAlex Heuer and Kelly Moffitt and hosted by veteran journalist Don Marsh. Follow us on Twitter and join the conversation at @STLonAir.
