Many communities, including some in the St. Louis area, are making a big commitment to going green and utilizing solar energy with the encouragement of the Environmental Protection Agency. The Green Power Community Challenge includes Clayton and Creve Coeur.
Host Don Marsh led a discussion about the commercial and residential use of solar energy.
Rick Hunter, CEO of Microgrid Solar, a local company focused on renewable energy and efficiency, and Rod Thomas, who leads residential operations for Microgrid Solar, joined Marsh to talk about the use of solar.
David Smith also joined the program to talk about how he and his wife, Thuy, are using alternative energies, including solar. Smith lives in Webster Groves in what is said to be the nation’s first ‘active house.’
Kathleen Engle, a sub-contractor managing Ameren Missouri’s Pure Power Program also joined the discussion.
