Missouri has sent more than 3,000 rape kits from state backlog to labs for testing
For more than three years, Missouri officials have been finding, tracking and testing the state's backlog of thousands of unaccounted-for kits, which are used to identify rapists and people who commit sexual assault. Pandemic funding is running out for Illinois community health workers
More than 650 people have been employed as community health workers in Illinois. Congress authorized $55 million for community health programs nationally during the pandemic. That funding will run out in June and neither the workers nor the communities they assist know what will happen next.
