All Missouri Adults Will Be Eligible For COVID Vaccine April 9
Missouri Gov. Mike Parson announced Thursday that nearly 2 million Missourians will become eligible for the COVID-19 vaccine by April 9, when every adult in the state qualifies. Parson said the first 900,000 will include homeless people, construction workers and those who work in higher education, all of whom become eligible for the vaccine on March 29.
It Could Take Another Year Until Missouri Reaches Herd Immunity
Missouri has vaccinated 20% of the state’s population and expects a significant jump in the vaccine supply by summer — enough for all adults in the state to obtain a COVID-19 shot. But even if the federal government boosts the supply and every U.S. adult becomes eligible in May, widespread immunity could still take until 2022 to reach because a vaccine needs to be approved for children.

Missouri To Vaccinate 14,000 People At Several St. Louis Events Next Week
Two large-scale events at St. Louis Community College-Forest Park will inoculate approximately 6,000 people next Thursday and Friday. Other state-run vaccination events will take place through Saturday.

Last month, more than 100 detainees at the St. Louis Justice Center revolted, attacking a guard, smashing windows and setting fires to protest their living conditions. The detainees held a floor of the jail for nearly seven hours. Now a new task force, created to investigate conditions in the jail, has released a report that seeks to explain what went wrong and what it will take to fix it.
