ST. LOUIS – A former head of the Missouri Republican party has announced her candidacy for chair of her party's national committee.
Ann Wagner was the leader of state's GOP from 1999 to 2005. She also served as co-chair of the Republican National Committee for four years. Monday, she announced on her website that she wants that job again.
"My lifetime of service to the Republican Party, a record of proven conservative leadership and results, has prepared me for this job," Wagner said, "Today I am asking for your trust and support."
Current RNC chairman Michael Steele, who has been criticized by some Republicans, has yet to say if he will seek another term.
