St. Louis – A Missouri man has been indicted on a federal charge of making a threat to kill President Obama.
The U.S. Attorney's office said Tuesday that Josh Randall McCallum, 32, mailed a threatening letter in August, from a state prison in Bowling Green, Mo.
McCallum is scheduled to make a court appearance later this week. The Missouri Department of Corrections said McCallum has been incarcerated since 1999 for tampering and burglary.
The charge of threatening to kill the president carries a penalty of up to five years in prison and up to $250,000 in fines.
