Jefferson City, Mo. – Governor Jay Nixon says he'll return a $10,000 contribution from Motorola.
After taking office Jan. 12, Nixon put a hold on the company's $80 million contract to construct a new emergency radio system because of budget problems. But campaign finance reports show Nixon received $10,000 from Motorola last week.
After the Associated Press asked about the money Tuesday, Nixon campaign manager Ken Morley said it would be refunded because of Motorola's pending state contract.
Morley said Motorola had committed to donate money for Nixon's inaugural celebration before the contract was put on hold.
