St. Louis, MO – There will be parking restrictions and street closures Wednesday and Thursday for the visitation and funeral of St. Louis firefighter Leonard Riggins.
No parking will be allowed on Compton Avenue between Olive Street and Market Street from 8am to 10pm Wednesday, but the streets themselves will remain open. Visitation for Riggins is Wednesday night from 4pm tp 8pm at Harris-Stowe State University's administration building.
On Thursday, the same stretch of Compton will be closed, as well as Olive Street from Compton to Leffingwell Avenue from 8am to 2pm to allow for the staging of fire equipment for the funeral procession. The funeral is scheduled for 11am Thursday, also at Harris-Stowe.
Riggins was shot and killed last week when he went to aid a carjacker who had crashed a stolen vehicle. St. Louis County police later shot and killed the carjacker.
