St. Louis, MO – Washington University is once again in the running to host a presidential debate.

The Commission on Presidential Debates announced this week that it has received proposals from 19 potential sites for 2008, including Washington University.

Wash. U. hosted presidential debates in 1992, 2000 and 2004. It was selected for a debate in 1996, but that debate was canceled.

The CPD will conduct site surveys during the next several months and is expected to announce final sites in October.

Other sites in the running include the state of Illinois (with a site in Chicago), Belmont University in Nashville, and Indiana University.
