St. Louis – A judge has sentenced a suburban St. Louis man to more than 12 years in federal prison for defrauding investors of $4.5 million over a 16-year period.
James Knight of Hazelwood was also ordered to pay restitution to more than 50 victims.
Knight used investors' money to gamble at casinos in Missouri and Illinois. Knight, 58, pleaded guilty in December to two counts of mail and wire fraud, three counts of interstate transportation of stolen money, one count of bank fraud and one count of credit card fraud, all felonies.
