St. Louis, MO – Missouri residents have just one day left to vote on what the state's new license plates will look like.
The redesign of the plates is required by a law approved in 2004. There are three designs up for consideration, all of which should improve visibility for law enforcement and thwart the theft of renewal tabs.
Department of Revenue Director Trish Vincent says the new plate will have the month printed right on it, as it used to. "We're going to go back to that so we're not going to have a sticker for the month any longer and then the sticker that has the year on it, the first year won't have a sticker cause it will be in the plate, you know it'll be in the sheeting.," she said.
"But after that, there'll be an indention in the plate and we're going to make the sticker larger."
Until midnight tonight (Monday), people can view the three designs and vote for their favorite on the Department of Revenue's website. (www.dor.mo.gov)
