Chicago, Ill. – The man who was on trial along with former Illinois Governor George Ryan will serve his prison sentence at a facility in West Virginia.
The Chicago Tribune reports that businessman Larry Warner has been told to surrender at a minimum-security camp in Glenville, West Virginia, on January 16th. He's been sentenced to nearly 3.5 years in prison.
Ryan and Warner were convicted on April 17th of racketeering conspiracy, mail fraud and other offenses.
Prosecutors accused Ryan of steering contracts to Warner and other political insiders, using tax dollars for his campaign and covering up fundraising corruption. Both men have appealed their convictions.
Ryan is scheduled to begin serving his 6.5-year sentence on January Fourth.
