St. Louis, MO – Former Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres will be in St. Louis today (Monday) to meet with local Jewish leaders and also attend a private fundraiser.
The money being raised is not for a political candidate, but rather for his country.
Israel set up an Emergency Campaign to raise money to help pay for costs related to this summer's war with Hezbollah.
Peres is now the country's deputy prime minister.
He'll be at the home of Sam and Marilyn Fox, who last month hosted First Lady Laura Bush at a fundraiser for the Republican Party.
