MOHELA board will re-vote on sale of loans

By AP/KWMU

Jefferson City, MO – Missouri's college loan authority will hold a do-over meeting to again debate its plan sell off loans to pump cash into state coffers.

Attorney General Jay Nixon last month sued the board of the loan authority, called MOHELA, for not giving proper notice of the meeting where the sale was approved.

Now, the board has scheduled a meeting for March 10 at the Lake of the Ozarks to reconsider its previous votes and take public comment.

Nixon, though, says the new meeting will not end his lawsuit about the board's previous actions.
