Columbia, MO – University of Missouri President Elson Floyd has ordered an independent probe of the resignation of Quin Snyder as men's basketball coach.
The investigation will be lead by former federal prosecutor Jean Paul Bradshaw and Dalton Wright, a newspaper publisher in Lebanon, Mo.
Floyd wants to know what was said to Snyder - and by whom - just before the coach quit.
Snyder resigned February 10, one day after saying he would coach the Tigers through the final six games of the season. He had two years left on his contract.
Snyder said last week he'd been told the entire administration had agreed to end his contract at the end of the current season. Snyder refused to name the messenger.
But athletic director Mike Alden acknowledges he sent special assistant Gary Link to talk with the coach.
