Jefferson City, MO. – Missouri women now will have to wait a full day after consulting their doctors before they can have abortions.
A federal judge today allowed a 24-hour abortion waiting period contained in a 2003 law to take effect.
But Judge Scott Wright continued to bar a part of the law mandating what abortion physicians must discuss with their patients.
The revised preliminary injunction carries out the directives of a federal appeals panel ruling from two weeks ago.
