Jefferson City, MO – The leader of the Missouri Senate says he's considering a run for Attorney General in 2008.

Senator Michael Gibbons (R-Kirkwood) has changed the make-up of his campaign finance committee to indicated he's seeking the attorney general's office. Gibbons, 46, was re-elected last year and is serving his last term in the Senate. He can't run again because of term limits. He says he'll decide later whether to actually run for attorney general.

Gibbons' latest campaign finance report indicates that he has nearly 62,000 on hand -- money that can be used if he enters a statewide contest.

Current Attorney General Jay Nixon, a Democrat, has indicated he'll run for Governor in 2008.
