Edwardsville, Ill. – Southern Illinois University's Board of Trustees have picked a businessman from Mount Vernon, Ill. to replace Glenn Poshard as board chairman.
Roger Tedrick was named to the post after a trustees vote Monday at SIU-Edwardsville.
Tedrick was graduated from SIU-Carbondale in 1970 and appointed to the board last year.
Poshard had served as chairman for more than a year but resigned last week to seek the school's presidency.
SIUs current president- James Walker-plans to retire next year. The board says it will begin a nationwide search for his replacement and hopes to find one within six months.
