St. Louis, MO. – Public transit users will have their say about a proposed fare increase affecting both bus and light rail service.
The board of the mass transit agency Metro approved eight public hearings Friday from June 1 to June 16.
Under the proposal, the base price of a Metrolink ticket would rise to a $1.75 this year and $2.00 in 2006.
Bus fares would increase to a $1.65 this year and $1.75 in 2006. Metro says rising diesel fuel costs are driving their rates up.
