Small earthquake in northeastern Arkansas

Manila, Ark. – A small earthquake in northeastern Arkansas rattled homes in southern Missouri, but there was no major damage.

The quake was a magnitude 4.1. It was felt across a wide area of the Mississippi Valley, including in parts of Kentucky, Tennessee and northern Mississippi.

Scientists say the tremor was centered about four miles outside of Manila in the New Madrid Seismic Zone.
