Chicago, Ill. – The Illinois Secretary of State's office is investigating another possible corruption case.
Agency spokesman Dave Druker says the office wants to know whether fake car titles for drug dealers were sold in exchange for cash bribes. He says it involves at least two car dealership owners, who also are charged with laundering drug money for gangs.
A source close to the investigation has told The Associated Press that authorities are focusing on one worker at a secretary of state's office in Chicago.
And the Chicago Sun-Times reports that at least one manager helped the dealership owners avoid an IRS review and quickly issue license plates.
Previously, workers in the Secretary of State's office have been convicted of accepting bribes paid in return for drivers licenses.
