A group of St. Louis homeowners is rediscovering the history of their famous neighborhood.
Until the 1940s, African-Americans were forbidden from buying homes on Lewis Place, a private street on the city's northside. A series of courtcases eventually struck down that practice, opening the street to an influx of black homeowners
But today, residents say Lewis Place is losing its glory.
As KWMU's Kevin Lavery reports, the residents hope a re-telling of their past will help secure their future.
