Franklin Co. Man Burned in Meth Explosion

St. Louis, MO – A man in Franklin County, Mo. was critically burned after a methamphetamine lab exploded Tuesday.

Franklin County Sheriff Gary Toelke says three men were in the home making meth; the home was badly damaged.

The injured man had suffered severe burns and damage to his eyes and ears. A second suspect was arrested; police are looking for a third man who they think is also injured.

The explosion happened at about 1:00 a.m. near the town of St. Clair.

Names of the suspects were not released pending formal charges.

A female friend of the injured man drove him to an ambulance garage and told paramedics he had suffered a seizure. Instead, paramedics found the man had suffered severe burns and damage to his eyes and ears. He is hospitalized in critical condition.
