St. Louis, MO – The St. Louis Symphony announced today (Monday) it had reached a fundraising milestone six months ahead of the deadline to do so.
The Taylor family, which owns St. Louis-based Enterprise Rent-A-Car, offered to match $40-million if the symphony could raise its own $40-million.
The money would help give the organization a healthy endowment. The deadline to raise the money was Dec. 31, 2004.
More than 10,000 pledges were made to the symphony.
